CEU Cinema - Watch and Learn for CEUS

View Movies and read texts for CE credit in three easy steps

FAQs

How Does it Work?
Each class is based on a feature film. We have chosen movies that capture what you need to know about today’s presenting problems in clinical practice. We pair each movie with websites, books, or other instructional material.

Go to the Course Catalog, pick out your course, click on “sign up”, and pay. After paying, you will be taken to the course instruction and test site, where you will view the requirements and be shown how to complete the materials. Once you have viewed all the materials, click on the button that says “Take The Test”. When you pass the test, the computer will prompt you to print out your certificate. Keep this for your records should the BBS ever want to see them. We also keep records on file of the classes you have taken. You can access these under the “My Account” page.

Tests and Credit

How do I receive credit on CEU Cinema?
When you take the test, the computer will evaluate your answers. A passing grade means that you have completed that course. You can then print out your certificate. That course will also appear under “completed courses” in your tracking page. Your records are kept at CEU Cinema indefinitely, unless you cancel the record

What is a passing grade on CEU Cinema?

70% or more correct answers.

What if I do not pass the test?
If you don’t pass the test, you may research your incorrect answers and take the test again. You may take it as many times as you like until you pass.

What do I need to show the BBS?
If you are ever audited on fulfilling your continuing education requirements, the BBS will want proof of your completion of credits. Your printed certificate from CEU Cinema will provide that. In addition, your classes will be kept on record in "My Account". Should you ever need to re-print a certificate, you may do so from your account page.

Cost

How much is it?
We charge a flat rate of $10 per credit hour. This includes the test and certificate. It does not include the price of the other course materials such as films or videos. Usually you will have to pay normal video rental rates on the films or videos. If you are already a member of Netflix, most of your film rentals would be included in your membership. Many of our films are available at local libraries. You can also download them from iTunes, or buy them from Amazon or an independent film seller. Sometimes a used copy will be less than a rental.

Making Recommendations, Creating Classes

What if I know of a good movie for CEU Cinema?
If you know of a movie that would make a good CEU Cinema class, please suggest it to us by writing to info@CEUcinema.com.

May I write classes for CEU Cinema?
Yes, we review qualified classes for inclusion in our curriculum. If you have an idea for a class, please call our office at 1-888-882-8328. Compensation is as negotiated.

A completed class includes: the feature film, supporting texts such as chapters from the DSM, websites, instructional videos, or other teaching material (surprise us!), and the test. Your role as teacher is to find the salient points in the film, pair them with web or written material, and write test questions about them.
